Service Day

Service Day was started in 1983 as an effort to get campus organizations involved in service work together. It is an event that occurs in the spring devoted solely to providing service to the community. Sisters work to find projects in the community for the big day. Chi Delta Alpha invites organizations from all over campus to participate in the annual event. All of the volunteers are divided up and sent out into the community to do service. Over 300 hours of service were done last year. Service Day is full of different kinds of projects!

  • Minor home repairs
  • Raking yards in the community
  • Cleaning houses
  • Adopt-A-Spot
  • Lawn care
  • Visiting elderly community members
  • Cutting down trees

Each year Chi Delta Alpha researches both new and old projects to do all over the New River Valley for Service. Interested? Email Us for information!

Open House

At the end of the fall semester Chi Delta Alpha invites all women at Virginia Tech to its annual Open House. At the Open House Chi Delta Alpha sisters explain to those interested in spring pledging what makes Chi Delta Alpha an amazing organization at Virginia Tech, and the pledge advisors highlight the upcoming pledging process. At this event sisters introduce themselves to prospective pledges and invite them to join the pledging process. The pledge advisors will guide them through all of the pledging requirements and explain the different aspects of being a pledge such as the pledge class service project, pledge hood, Bigs/ Littlies, and much more!
